Reception have settled well into school life with lots of work on confidence building and making new friends. This means the children feel more relaxed at school and are in a good position to learn. Most of the children are developing good relationships with their buddies which helps them feel confident to take part in the wider life of the school. Examples include going to church and participating in whole school collective worship. They also attended Afternoon Tea at the invitation of Class 2.
They are now familiar with their indoor and outdoor classrooms and able to access an increasing number of resources independently which enables them to initiate quality learning through play without constantly asking for help.
The baseline for the Reception class is now completed and learning is moving on. The children have enjoyed going on an autumn walk in small groups in the fields around the village and this has made them more aware of changes in the environment.
